Strawberry fields

The foraging instinct that seems so well developed in your average South Tyrolian skipped my husband right by. Lucky for our tummies Norah got a double dose. She could rarely be accused of being a patient person (where could that come from?) but if food is going to be the payoff for her efforts, more specifically berries,then you are in for a long wait until she's sure she's got every last one.

Syrithe

Syrithe was one of my great childhood friends. Though she has curiously blotted it out we would drive my parents insane (they remember it only too well) playing Bach fugues on the piano, one hand each. Sounds even geekier on paper than in my head. It was pretty bad! We lost contact as teenagers, but thanks to a distinctive name and the wonder that is Facebook we got in touch.

Last week saw her and her family's second visit. We got treated to a little girl's ballet recital, Onic's impressive yoghurt consumption and tropical temperatures (well, for Sterzing). Some photographic evidence:
